Melissa Hall Biography

Melissa Hall grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and early on knew she would be a performer. She has a twin sister Melinda who was her biggest cheerleader and who encouraged Melissa to start dance classes at a young age. Melissa continued performing throughout high school and was enrolled in the Visual performing arts program at North High School. Shortly after, she enrolled at the University of Minnesota and began performing with the local modern dance troupe 10,000 Lakes. Her quest continued as she became a professional cheerleader, first for the Minnesota Viking Cheerleaders and then with the Minnesota Timberwolves performance team. She was approached by a pageant scout and ran for the title of Miss Minnesota in 97 and won. “I never would have entered a beauty pageant before meeting Faith Schway. It was such an opportunity to learn how to be confident and poised in front of many people.

Melissa continues to be close with her family who resides in Minnesota. Her Mother was stricken with breast cancer in 2002 and lost her battle in June of 2003. Melissa knew it was time to pursue her dreams of a health and fitness career that her Mother had always encouraged her to. In 2004 she ran for the title of Mrs. Minnesota 2004 in honor of her Mother Veretta Hall and promoted the importance of preventative healthcare via exercise & nutrition. She placed in the top ten at Nationals held in Palm Springs CA and thereafter became an active board member for the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation. Melissa has continued with her platform of preventative health care and is the reigning Mrs. Minnesota United States 2008 and provides her fitness services to inner-city women and disabled citizens. Her passion for fitness and encouraging others to be healthy, fit & happy continues.

Melissa continued to compete in the Fitness America system and placed in the top ten out of 100 competitors at her first competition. She started a professional fitness modeling career in 2000 and has graced 8 covers with her latest being the December 2008 Oxygen Fitness Magazine. She competed at the Fitness Universe Pageant June of 2005 and won the title of Ms. Bikini Universe.

Melissa is currently residing in Tampa Bay Florida and has recently decided to take her love and knowledge of health and fitness by pursuing another endeavor, Melissa Hall Fitness and will launch products November 2008 on the Home Shopping Network. As a certified trainer, Melissa’s goal is to develop products that will help people achieve their health and fitness goals.

She continues to help young women with their dreams and goals. “Too many times I've been told that dreams don’t come true, which is far from the truth. You need support, encouragement and with discipline and guidance anything is possible.” My motto is: “Know thyself and help others; share your knowledge, it's empowering.”
